![]() When I first came to college, I would always shy away from the grocery store's brand, but I've learned to appreciate how great Kroger brand really is. However, they would be a great addition to a sandwich, li ke a homemade Chick-Fil-A sandw ich, or to serve on the side of a meal since they are already sliced into spears. The reason these are #4 on my list is because I'm not the biggest fan of pickle spears. To me, they were just as delicious as any other Vlasic Kosher Dill. Although they are reduced sodium, you could barely tell a difference. The flavor was interesting, but it definitely was not my favorite by any means. Private Selection always has to be a bit fancier than other brands, I guess. They are marinated in normal pickle juice, but with added carrot, red pepper, and garlic. These pickles tasted very different than any kosher dill pickle I had ever tried before. Trust me!įirst of all, these are not kosher dill pickles, which really does make a big difference. I am leaving these pickles on my list as a warning: do not buy these, and do not buy any dill pickles unless they clearly say kosher dill pickles on the container. Do not ever buy dill pickles if they are not kosher, you will be disappointed. I'm a Kroger(it's Dillon's here) shopper as well. I love Kroger and feel I find very good buys there. I buy Kroger store brands on a regular basis and am usually very well satisfied. but especially for soups, stews, and such, I find these products wholesome, tasty, and just fine. Beans may be uneven cuts the corn not quite as young and tender, etc. I find the budget labels are less "fancy" than more expensive brands. Kroger's store brands appear (or have appeared) under a variety of labels - the straightforward "Kroger" label, "Private Selection" for their fancier line, "Home Sense" for paper and household goods, and brands like "Extra Value" and now "Psssst" for budget brands. ![]()
